ARTiculate Artist Talks

Sometimes, when you’re looking at art, you wish the artist was standing right next to you so you could turn to them and ask, ‘What were you thinking?!?’ That’s what ARTiculate is all about!

Artists and audiences come together at ARTiculate, Baton Rouge Gallery's monthly artist talk series. This is your chance to hear straight from the artists themselves about the techniques, processes and inspirations behind the works on display in their exhibitions. These informal talks provide a Q&A period and plenty of insight sure to cast a new light on great local contemporary art.

Next ARTiculate: At 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, the gallery’s ARTiculate Artist Talk series will offer a special presentation with a panel discussion – moderated by author and Food Writer for 225 Magazine Maggie Heyn Richardson – that will shed light on the growing farm-to-table trend and the art and issues presented in our exhibition, 'Before the Fork.'

Panelists include Chef Ryan Andre (City Pork), artist & LSU AgCenter Communications Director Frankie Gould, owner of Fullness Farms Grant Guidroz, artist Ross Jahnke, Slow Food Baton Rouge President Carl Mostenbocker and artist David Scott Smith. ARTiculate begins at 4 p.m. and is also free and open to the public.

ARTiculate Artist Talks are - with few exceptions - always held at 4 p.m. on the Sunday that follows each exhibition's First Wednesday Opening Reception. These events are always free and open to the public.

Check out the videos below from recent ARTiculate events and be sure to visit the gallery's YouTube Channel to see tons more videos from dozens of our artist members.
